360 Collins Street
Melbourne
360 Collins Street was constructed as a podium building with office tower in the early 1970’s as the corporate headquarters of Westpac Bank. In the fashion of the era it was set back from the Collins Street building alignment. At the rear, Little Collins Street frontage, a garden plaza, connected by escalator to Collins Street was created.
Bates Smart was appointed by National Mutual to upgrade the building to 21st Century standards. To reconfirm the building’s prominent position in the CBD a new four storey glazed and back-lit façade at the street line was constructed. Internally new services, ground floor lobby, lift lobbies, and toilet and tenancy areas provide new ambience and enhanced accommodation for tenants.
Bates Smart was also commissioned by Westpac to carry out the complete refurbishment and fitout of their headquarters comprising office and workstation areas, conferencing facilities, executive accommodation and a call centre.
