181 William Street
Melbourne
CBW is a mixed-use project on the north-west corner of Bourke and William Streets in Melbourne's CBD. Its premier corner location with multiple frontages provides for two distinct buildings with individual identities and addresses: 181 William Street and 550 Bourke Street. The new office tower at 181 William Street will revitalise an area of the legal precinct that has been vacant for some time. It comprises ground level retail and cafés, a podium that responds to the height and nature of the historic Goldsbrough Mort building opposite, and a bronze, copper and gold glass tower of 26 floors.
The tower presents as two side-core buildings positioned back-to-back. These slim, elegant forms deliver high efficiencies; offer excellent flexibility in fitout; and provide minimal distances to natural light.
The design incorporates passive and mechanical environmentally sustainable principles to deliver a 5-star Green Star rated building, for energy and resource efficiency. These attributes apply to both towers.
