Innovation Campus, University of Wollongong, NSW
Enterprise 1 is an innovative 10,000 square-metre workplace that allows the University of Wollongong’s collaborative businesses to share a unique campus environment while enjoying direct access to students and graduates.
It is located on the Innovation Campus which was this year named the best new business and industrial park in Australia at the Property Council of Australia Innovation and Excellence Awards. Construction was completed in April 2011 and the building was officially opened on 1 September 2011 by the NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell.
The 4 storey building is designed to accommodate a wide range of tenancy sizes with office space located around a central atrium that provides tenants with excellent natural light and connectivity between floors via a large open stair. The building has a 4.5 Star NABERS rating and naturally ventilated mixed mode spaces located at each end of the building with direct access to balconies that enjoy ocean and escarpment views. Automated vertical cedar louvers located on the eastern and western facades protect the office space from low angle sun.
