The upgraded Melbourne office for law firm Clayton Utz is planned around the innovative concept of the Legal Neighbourhood, where the focus is on lawyers practicing in teams rather than as individuals.
Following a carefully orchestrated reorganisation, the reception, meeting rooms, conference rooms, boardroom and kitchen are now located on one level. The legal practice offices are consolidated over the remaining three floors.
The crisp design provides flexibility in layout: associates offices can be converted into partner offices, or configured to accommodate two associates, while administrative assistants are teamed together. The consolidation of reception functions with support services provides additional space for amenities that can be enjoyed by partners, employees and clients.
The new fitout uses timeless finishes and detailing to create a modern and elegant environment that conveys the firm's progressive outlook, while ensuring that clients feel comfortable in the new surroundings.
